What is the Best Reversible Drum Storm / Drum Pump?
When work is in high gear, spills and overflows are inevitable. Streamtek drum pump is the most reliable device for handling spills and overflows using just compressed air as a power source. It can be used for sopping up or transferring waste water, sludge, tramp oil, hydraulic oil, lubricant, coolant, chips, and other liquids. This system comprises no moving parts, thereby virtually eliminating the need for maintenance.
What viscosity of fluid can the Drum Pump move?
The Reversible Drum Storm can move anything from water to motor oil. Below are pumping rates of various viscosity’s of fluids with an 80 PSIG inlet pressure.
Water ~40 gallons per minute
Hydraulic Oil ~11 gallons per minute
15W40 Motor Oil ~7 gallons per minute
Drum Pump FAQs
1. Can a purchase a Reversible Drum Storm with an extended hose?
Yes. Our standard hoses are available in 10′ and 20′ lengths. Custom lengths of PVC hose are also available by special order. Since the Drum Storm is designed for use with a 10′ hose, longer hose lengths will affect performance depending on the application.
2. Why can't I use the Drum Storm on material with a low flash point?
The Drum Storm unit has the potential to produce a static charge which can spawn from the media being transported.
3. What viscosity of fluid can the Drum Storm move?
The Reversible Drum Storm can move anything from water right up to motor oil. Below are pumping rates of various viscosity’s of fluids with an 80 PSIG inlet pressure.
- Water ~40 gallons per minute
- Hydraulic Oil ~11 gallons per minute
- 15W40 Motor Oil ~7 gallons per minute
4. What's the vertical lift the Drum Storm can produce?
Approximately 9-1/2 feet @ 80 PSIG inlet pressure.
5. Can the drum become over pressurized?
No. The risk of over-pressurization is eliminated by a relief valve build into the Drum Storm unit.
6. Does the Reversible Drum Storm require regular maintenance?
The Drum Storm is constructed of type 303 stainless steel and has no moving parts inside except for the adjusting knob. To clean, simply immerse the entire unit in a solvent cleaner or mild degreaser.
The Streamtek Corp Advantage
Streamtek products use innovative compressed air technologies to improve productivity, increase equipment efficiency and deliver enclosure and spot cooling, conveying, and blow-off. Here are some of advantages:
Easy to install
Thanks to design its quite easy to install, maintain, and allows for quick removal of a continuous piece.
To help you easily control air flow, all our reversible drum storms have built-in pressure/vacuum relief.
Maintenance free with the airflow easily controlled via pressure regulator, and safe to use.
Our reversible drum storm have built-in Automatic safety shut-off that helps in avoiding spills.
Working with liquid spills is a tricky task that is not just time-consuming, but also energy-consuming. But this isn’t the case if you choose Streamtek Corp’s drum pump. Our drum pump the Drum Storm is a maintenance-free system that can effectively suck up liquid spills, wastewater, tramp oil, coolant, sludge, chips, hydraulic oil and other liquids. All this is powered by nothing but compressed air.
This system can be simply attached to any closed head drum. By turning the drum pump’s knob counter-clockwise, a high powered vacuum rapidly fills the drum. When you want to transfer the contaminated liquids to another tank, just turn the knob clockwise and the stainless steel pump will empty the drum in just 2 minutes.
This unit also protects your investment because it’s made of 303-stainless steel and has no moving parts (except for the knob). All you need to do is clean the unit whenever needed with a solvent cleaner or mild degreaser.
Here’s where our drum pump can be put to use:
- Coolant sumps
- Screw machines and machining centers
- Food processing
- Floor cleanup and tanks
- Basement Flood/Restoration
Streamtek Corp’s drum pump is compact and portable making it easy to use at different locations across your facility. It is completely safe because it doesn’t use electricity and we’ve taken enough care to add a built-in pressure and vacuum relief. For more information relating to our other products such as static eliminator and air curtain, please visit us at www.stream-tek.com and we’d love to offer you custom solutions.
Handling a ‘spill situation’ at your workshop, site or facility can be a rather time-consuming process. This is especially true if you have an electrically powered vac that’s prone to freezing up or clogging. But Streamtek Corp’s drum pump the Drum Storm is a maintenance-free system because it has no moving parts. It can be used to suck up liquid spills, wastewater, tramp oil, coolant, sludge, chips, hydraulic oil, and other liquids all powered by just compressed air. Essentially, this device also frees you of worries relating to high power bills.
For several years now, Streamtek Corp has been creating products that use innovative compressed air technologies to improve productivity. The drum pump is an extension of this very innovative streak. Our other products such as the very popular air knives can be used for and spot cooling, conveying, and blow-off.
Our reversible Drum Storm can be attached to any closed head drum instantaneously. As you turn the knob on the Drum Storm counterclockwise, a high powered vacuum fills the drum in 2 minutes or less. To transfer contaminated liquids to the tank, just turn the knob clockwise and the stainless steel pump will empty the drum in just 2 minutes with a similar two-way action. We’ve ensured that you can control the flow rate with the help of a regulator, shutoff valve, or with the knob itself.

Liquid drum pumps are by no means new to the market! Some are being constructed of steel, some aluminum with various attachments. The Streamtek Corp Drum Storm is a complete system with everything included for most applications from using the included floor squeegee tool to suck up a liquid spill, transferring coolant, or emptying/filling a gearbox.
Still a bit confused on how the Streamtek Corp Liquid Drum Pump (aka. Drum Storm) works? Click here for a quick flash demonstration.
Highly flammable liquids should not be used on such pneumatic systems! The Streamtek Corp Liquid Drum Pump (Drum Storm) is safe for cooling, water, gear oils, and detergents. Typically used for liquids that have a viscosity close to water. Liquids of higher viscosity (ie. motor oil) will have a slower transfer rate.
So why the Streamtek Corp Drum Storm? Simple. Zero Maintenance! Our Liquid Drum Pump is constructed of highly durable stainless steel to handle wide range of materials. There are no blades or propellers to wear out either! With virtually no moving parts, the Streamtek Corp Liquid Drum Pump will last for years to come.
