Calculating Air Consumption

EXAMPLE: A Model 7504 Vortex Tube consumes 4 SCFM @ 100 PSIG (113 SLPM @ 6.89 BAR). To calculate the airflow with an inlet pressure of 60 PSIG (4.1369 BAR), follow the below steps:
1 Atmosphere (ATM) = 14.7 (PSI)
1 (SCFM) = 28.3168 (SLPM)
1 (PSI) = .0689 (BAR)
STEP 1: Determine the ratio of absolute inlet pressures.

60 (PSIG) + 14.7 = 74.7
100 (PSIG) + 14.7 = 114.7 74.7 divided by 114.7 = 0.6512 is the Ratio |
4.1369 (BAR) + 1.0135 = 5.1504
6.8948 (BAR) + 1.0135 = 7.9083 5.1504 divided by 7.9083 = 0.6512 is the Ratio |
STEP 2: Multiply the above Ratio by the known factor (4 SCFM).

4 (SCFM) x 0.6512 = 2.6048 SCFM
Therefore Model 7504 Vortex Tube operating at 60 PSIG will consume just 2.6048 SCFM. |
113 (SLPM) x 0.6512 = 73.5856
Therefore Model 7504 Vortex Tube operating at 4.1369 BAR will consume just 73.585 SLPM. |
