Key Features & Benefits
-
Dramatic Noise Reduction: Lowers the piercing “hiss” of cold air exhaust to a comfortable background level, protecting operator hearing and improving shop floor communication.
-
Low Backpressure Design: Engineered with a high-surface-area internal media that allows cold air to flow freely, maintaining the critical temperature drop (Delta-T) of your Vortex Tube.
-
Compact Profile: The slim, cylindrical design ensures the muffler doesn’t interfere with ducting or flexible hoses used to direct cold air onto a target.
-
Easy Maintenance: The internal elements are resistant to moisture and oil aerosols, providing long service life in standard industrial compressed air environments.
-
Tool-Free Installation: Features a knurled base or hex-head for quick hand-tightening directly into the cold end of any standard Streamtek Vortex Tube.
Performance Tip: Maintaining Your Delta-T
To get the most out of your muffler:
-
Check for Clogging: If you notice the cold air temperature rising or flow decreasing, the muffler element may be clogged with pipe scale or oil from the compressor. Replace the muffler to restore peak cooling.
-
Proper Sizing: Always match the NPT size of the muffler to the cold port of your specific Vortex Tube model (e.g., use a 1/4″ NPT muffler for Small Vortex Tubes) to prevent air restriction.
